The Turkmen delegation is taking part in an event to discuss the Joint Action Plan on the Trans-Caspian Trade Route, which is taking place in Tashkent.

The event is organized by the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) of the U.S. Department of Commerce as part of the regional project to expand the Trans-Caspian Trade Route (TCTR).

Turkmenistan was represented by the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, the “Transport and Logistics center of Turkmenistan”, as well as private transport and logistics companies. The event was also attended by representatives of Kazakhstan, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

The discussions focused on the draft Joint Action Plan for the Trans-Caspian Trade Route (TPP), proposals for its effective implementation, consideration of the establishment of the Coordinating and Energy Council of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, definition of its role and functions.

The participants will also discuss the implementation of sectoral and interdepartmental digitalization in cargo transportation.

The TCTR project contributes to the achievement of the goals of the C5+1 Diplomatic Platform for the development of economic connectivity in the region. Its purpose is to develop recommendations for the best trade route scenarios among participating representatives of the private sector from Central Asian countries, as well as Georgia and Azerbaijan; to ensure the harmonization of customs and border crossing procedures, to facilitate stakeholder dialogue and to facilitate the exchange of ideas on a coordinated regional approach to the expansion of the Trans—Caspian Trade Route.
