In Turkmenistan, April 10 will be a day off due to the celebration of Eid al- Adha
The President of Turkmenistan signed a decree on celebrating Eid al-Adha on April 10, and therefore Wednesday this week will be a non-working day.
All institutions, enterprises and organizations, regardless of their form of ownership, are required to ensure compliance with this document.
The decree was adopted “in order to further strengthen the unity, harmony and cohesion of the native people,” as well as “respect for centuries-old traditions and customs.” The document refers to Article 81 of the Labor Code of Turkmenistan on holidays and memorial days, as reported in the news release of the Turkmen State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company.
Eid al-Adha, along with Kurban Bayram, is one of the two most important holidays of Islam. It marks the end of the holy month of fasting - Oraza. On this day, Turkmen people traditionally hold festive sadaka dinners at home, visit each other and visit the mosque.
