The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Youth Development Forum was held in Qingdao, Shandong Province, East China. The organizer was the All-China Youth Federation, Xinhua News Agency reported.

This year's forum, which is an important event within the 2024 SCO Youth Camp, was held under the theme "Future Work: Building New Development Drivers and Skills." It brought together over 170 participants from 10 SCO member states: China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, India, Pakistan, Iran and Belarus, as well as two observer states of the organization: Mongolia and Afghanistan.

At the forum, youth leaders spoke about the youth movement in their countries and called for further strengthening of exchanges and cooperation between the youth of the SCO countries.

A list of 18 projects in the field of SCO youth exchanges and cooperation for 2024-2025 was published during the event, covering such areas as education, culture, sports, training, employment and entrepreneurship, economic cooperation and green development. The Global South Young Leaders Programme was also launched.
