Dubai major carpet event attracted world’s top producers
Over 200 000 carpets from the major rug producers are presented at the 23rd edition of Carpet & Art Oasis exhibition, opened recently in Dubai, UAE.
The exhibition acquaints with the best traditions of carpet weaving industry of Turkmenistan, Morocco, Uzbekistan, India Pakistan, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan.
The venue of the exhibition, covering the total space of 8,000 sq meters and 90 pavilions, is Dubai World Trade Centre. 80% of all exhibited carpets are hand-made.
The event, held under the motto “A Fabric of Innovation” will work until 15 January.
The charming silk handcrafts, as well as large collection of antique souvenirs attract thousands of tourists, traders and manufacturers. Thus, the exhibition is also proving good opportunity for establishing business contacts and sales. The cost of sale deals, concluded during last year Carpet Oasis, exceeded US $16 million.
The Carpet & Art Oasis is held annually since 1996 on the sidelines of Dubai Shopping Festival.
