Swiss cargo carrier strengthens its positions in Central Asian market

Over the past few years, the transport logistics company “AsstrA-Associated Traffic AG”, dealing with cargo transportation in Europe and CIS, has achieved certain success in the market of Central Asia, says company’s press release. According to the company's statistics, transport and logistics provider AsstrA transported 1.4 million tons of cargo worth more than 12 million euros from/to the Central Asian region. The sugar, sucrose, dried fruits, asbestos, polymers and various raw materials for the metallurgical industry share a bulk of cargo turnover. With the view of expansion and strengthening its positions in the promising Central Asian market, the company has decided to create a centralized department for Central Asia, aimed for better servicing five countries - Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan. The opening of the new unit has been reasoned by the growing freight traffic in this region, and therefore, emerging need for improving cargo handling, developing new optimal time-and-cost -saving routes, and simplifying the customs clearance procedures. The staff of the Central Asia Department provides consultations on a whole range of transport and logistics issues. They search for complex solutions of logistics tasks and work on multimodal transportation of cargo using all types of transport.
