The New Year of 2018 has come, and the schoolchildren have begun long-awaited winter vacations, during which they will be able not only to relax from lessons, but also benefit from spending time in various recreational and entertainment centers of Turkmenistan. Most of the children go to rest in a picturesque corner in the foothills of Kopetdag - Geokdere, where more than a dozen CRCs annually host over 7 thousand children from all over the country for the winter and summer holidays. Here the children will find a diverse cultural and entertainment plan of events prepared for them, including excursions and hikes, fun team games, creative gatherings, morning performances and sports competitions. In order not to forget the school curriculum and periodically refresh knowledge, there are also computer classes, libraries, reading rooms and even small training courses, for example, in the study of foreign languages. Arranging a solemn ceremony of seeing off children in Geokdere for vacations has become a good tradition that takes place annually in the square in front of the Palace of Children and Youth in Ashgabat after the New Year celebration. Not only parents, but also popular characters of Turkmen fairy tales, such as Ayaz Baba and Garpamik, accompanied by the magic assistants, gather to wish the children a good vacation. A faithful friend and defender Alabai, who this year became one of the main components of the New Year's symbolism in the Turkmen cities, also joined other good fairy-tale heroes. Upon arrival in Geokdere, the children are awaited by exciting festive events, New Year's lights and concerts with the participation of popular entertainers.
