Kazakhstan, presiding this month in the UN Security Council, intends to raise the question of the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. The thematic briefing in the UN Security Council on January 18, 2018, will be dedicated to this issue, at which the head of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev will make a statement. This news was distributed by the UN News Center. The heads and high-ranking representatives of some states will take part in this high-level meeting. Speaking at a meeting with journalists, Permanent Representative of Kazakhstan to the United Nations, Chair of the Security Council Committee, Kairat Umarov said that Kazakhstan intends to discuss this problem, because today it is necessary to create an atmosphere of trust between political leaders and states. Umarov noted that, in the opinion of the Kazakh side, the solution of any issues is impossible without such an atmosphere of trust between statesmen and countries.
