Turkmen “blue fuel” reduced winter gas deficit in China

Turkmen natural gas helped the northern provinces of China to overcome the deficit of “blue fuel” during the winter cold and to heat residential areas in full capacity without affecting the efficiency of industrial complexes, reports Reuters. In December and November, the northern and southern cities of the People's Republic of China faced the establishment of limits for the use of gas heating in connection with the transition of residential houses and enterprises of the country to a more environmentally friendly energy supply by gas turbine power stations. This year the import of “blue fuel” from Turkmenistan and its distribution among consumers have prevented an establishment of such limits, said Chen Zhu, managing director of the consulting company SIA Energy. Turkmenistan annually exports to China about 40 billion cubic meters of natural gas and is one of the main partners of the PRC in the fuel and energy sector.
