Three container trains sent from different provinces of China with an interval of one day will pass through the territory of Turkmenistan to reach the final destination in Iran - Tehran. The first of them, who left Changsha City in southern Hunan Province on December 28, has crossed the Kazakhstan border with Turkmenistan today, on January 7th, in the morning. Now it has to cover the distance of 825 km through the Balkan region - the entire western part of the country from north to south from the station of Serhetyaka to Akyaila (this distance is calculated to be overcome in 17 hours) and to enter the territory of Iran. The second freight train took off from the city of Yingchuan of the Autonomous Region in central China on December 29, and the third took off from Xian City of the Shanxi Province in the north. All trains include 41 container wagons, in the total amount of 123 containers. The test run is aimed at practical monitoring of all issues for the development of regular rail services and the increase in the volume of freight traffic in this direction. Given the conjuncture of the transport services market, two tracks are being developed for Turkmenistan: along the North-South vector from the station of Serhetyaka to Akyaila and from there to the north of Iran, and along the West-East vector from Serhetyaka to Serakhs, to the southeastern border with Iran. The second line was successfully tested in February 2016.
