At KazanForum 2025, standards for auditing partner finances will be adapted for Russia
Russia will host the international AAOIFI conference "Islamic Finance and Investment: Promoting Sustainable Development and Global Partnership" for the first time. This will be a significant event within the business program of KazanForum 2025. Traditionally, this conference has been held annually in Bahrain. The year 2025 marks the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and Bahrain.
The AAOIFI conference is an expert, professional, and specialized event that unites like-minded individuals in the development of Islamic banking instruments. Participants discuss innovative products and new market tools, examine their operation, and exchange experiences. Among the expected guests are: Sheikh Ebrahim Bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chairman of AAOIFI; Sheikh Muhammad Taqi Usmani, Chairman of the AAOIFI Shari'ah Council and Islamic scholar; Rustam Minnikhanov, Rais (Head) of the Republic of Tatarstan; Anatoly Aksakov, Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation; Anatoly Kozlachkov, President of the Association of Banks of Russia; Oleg Ganeev, Senior Vice President of Sberbank PJSC; and representatives from the Central Bank of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation.
"AAOIFI, a subsidiary of the Islamic Development Bank, which develops standards for Islamic finance, is located in Bahrain. Today, we need to understand how these standards, considering current legislation, can be applied in Russia and how we can implement adaptations," explains Taliya Minullina, Head of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency.
• We have been translating these standards from Arabic for approximately five years, but their adaptation is a complex task that must be addressed gradually, requiring amendments to the Tax Code and other fundamental documents.
The organizers of the event are the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI), the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency, and the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan.
