President of Turkmenistan meets with President of the Republic of Uzbekistan
Today, the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who is on a working visit to Samarkand to participate in the first Central Asia-European Union Summit, met with the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
During the meeting, the interlocutors noted with satisfaction that the Turkmen-Uzbek relations, characterized by a high level of trust and mutual support, are currently developing dynamically across a wide range of areas, including agriculture, electric power, the oil and gas complex, the chemical industry, and other sectors.
Particular attention is being paid to the formation of transport and energy corridors, the strengthening of interregional ties, as well as joint work on addressing pressing issues of sustainable development and ensuring stability in Central Asia. In this context, confidence was expressed that the current Summit will be an important step towards a closer and mutually beneficial partnership between Central Asia and the European Union.
