On May 5th, a summit of the heads of state of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf and Central Asian countries will take place in Samarkand.

This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, during his address at the 3rd meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Strategic Dialogue of the Cooperation Council "Central Asia and the Persian Gulf" in Kuwait, Trend reports with reference to Kuwaiti media.

The Minister stated that the upcoming summit in Samarkand will be an important step towards strengthening and deepening cooperation between the two regions.
