Ambassador of the Republic of Colombia has been accredited in Ashgabat
Ambassador of the Republic of Colombia to Turkmenistan Hector Isidro Arenas Neyra presented his credentials to the speaker of the national parliament Dunyagozel Gulmanova on Monday, April 28.
The Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, on behalf of the head of state, congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and wished him great success in strengthening cooperation between Turkmenistan and Colombia. The diplomat was familiarized with the main directions of Turkmenistan's domestic and peaceful foreign policy, and the activities of the Mejlis.
The parties noted the effectiveness of cooperation within the framework of international organizations and expressed their readiness to provide mutual support to initiatives promoted within the framework of the UN.
It was noted that there are great opportunities for exchanging experience in improving national legislation and parliamentary activities.
The Ambassador of Colombia was also received at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan by Deputy Minister Myahri Byashimova. The diplomats discussed the prospects for organizing political consultations between the foreign ministries of Turkmenistan and Colombia, as well as the establishment of an Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group between the Mejlis of Turkmenistan and the Congress of the Republic of Colombia.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan expressed hope for the participation of the Colombian side in the work of the international forum, which will be held on December 12, 2025 in Ashgabat as part of the International Year of Peace and Trust and in honor of the 30th anniversary of the country's permanent neutrality.
