Turkmenistan has embarked on a course of actively implementing artificial intelligence (AI) in key sectors. The Deputy Chairman of the "Turkmenaragatnashyk" Agency, Nurmyrat Rejepov, stated that the country seeks to utilize AI to enhance efficiency in governance, healthcare, education, and agriculture.

At an international conference on standardization held in Ashgabat, Mr. Rejepov emphasized that the state is developing the necessary laws and strategies for the integration of AI into the educational process, taking into account global best practices.

The "Turkmenaragatnashyk" Agency expressed its readiness for international cooperation in areas such as the development of 5G, space research, cybersecurity, the establishment of data processing centers, and the training of specialists in the fields of digital technologies and AI.

Particular attention is being paid to cybersecurity in Turkmenistan, for which the State Cybersecurity Service has been established. Support is also being provided to young IT specialists, specialized higher education institutions are being modernized, and conditions are being created for IT startups.

Mr. Rejepov noted that a significant portion of the software for the digital economy is being developed by Turkmen programmers. IT clusters are forming and IT parks are opening in the private sector to develop digital infrastructure, strengthen ties between science and production, and enter the international market.

Nurmyrat Rejepov invited international partners to participate in the "Turkmentel 2025" exhibition and conference in Ashgabat (November 12-14) to exchange experiences and establish cooperation in the field of digital technologies.
