The 85th anniversary of the People's Artist of Turkmenistan Annaberdi Atdanov was commemorated at a memorial evening
A memorial evening dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the birth of the People's Artist of Turkmenistan Annaberdi Atdanov was held at the State Library of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan. This popular singer, who lived a short but vibrant life, is remembered for his melodious songs full of love, sorrow, and joy, which are still loved and listened to today. He also remains in the grateful memory of those for whom he was a mentor in their creative development, continuing the ancient traditions of the Turkmen people. This was discussed by the participants of the meeting, during which speeches about the work of Annaberdi Atdanov and songs from his repertoire were performed.
Annaberdi Atdanov was born in 1940 in the village of Yaraji, Baharden etrap, where he began his creative journey as a member of the local ensemble and choir. In 1959, Atdanov participated in the republican review of amateur artistic activities and was awarded a Certificate of Honor from the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan. His growing popularity as a performer of folk songs and works by contemporary composers was further enhanced by his participation in such well-known films as "The Secrets of Mukam" and "Kechpelek" in which he sang the songs of the main characters.
In 1970, he was invited to the Turkmen State Philharmonic, and his talent blossomed even more fully. Performing as a popular variety artist of Turkmenistan in countries such as Canada and Mongolia, he expanded the circle of admirers of his art. In 1982, the singer tragically died in a car accident. For his great contributions to the development of Turkmen musical art and culture, Annaberdi Atdanov was posthumously awarded the honorary title "People's Artist of Turkmenistan" in 1992.
