Turkmenistan is actively developing its partnership with the OSCE, focusing on the energy transition, the training of qualified personnel, and the development of the necessary educational infrastructure. These issues were discussed at an inaugural meeting held on May 22-23.

Currently, only a limited number of educational institutions in the region offer programs in renewable energy sources (RES). A needs assessment has indicated a growing shortage of specialists, which hinders the development of RES and economic growth. It is also important to engage women in the energy sector to accelerate the transition to "green" energy.

To support Central Asian countries in training personnel for RES, the OSCE, with the participation of CAREC (Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia), is establishing a Regional Working Group on Education for Inclusive Energy Transition (RTEET). Participants from Turkmenistan include Allamyrat Khojayev (Ministry of Education), Agamyrat Ovulyagulyev (Scientific and Production Center for Renewable Energy Sources), and Serdar Mamedniyazov ("TEBIGY KUVVAT").

The RTEET will serve as a regional platform for cooperation among educational institutions, ministries, and energy companies in Central Asia. Its objective is to strengthen educational programs in RES within technical universities to cultivate an inclusive and forward-looking workforce for the energy transition in the region.
