The whole world on a bicycle: Turkmen embassies on the move for the World Day!
Under the slogan of unity and healthy lifestyle, Turkmen diplomatic missions around the world brightly celebrated World Bicycle Day! This wonderful holiday, established on the initiative of Turkmenistan by the United Nations, united people from different countries in their love for this environmentally friendly and useful type of transport.
Starting from May 31, the baton of the cycling holiday was taken up by Bishkek, Vienna, Moscow, Kyiv, Dubai, Islamabad, Kazan, Bucharest and other cities. In each city, the Embassies and Consulates of Turkmenistan organized colorful bike rides that brought together representatives of the diplomatic corps, local residents, the Turkmen diaspora and students.
In Bishkek, the bike ride united government officials and diplomats. In Vienna, Turkmen students showed their sports activity. Moscow welcomed the ride along the picturesque embankment of the Moscow River with the participation of students from different CIS countries. In Kyiv, the action was supported at the level of the city administration. Dubai saw an energetic bike ride organized by the Consulate General.
Particular attention was paid to young participants in Islamabad, where the Embassy of Turkmenistan together with partners organized a real celebration, giving children the opportunity to start the bike ride first. Kazan also joined the bike marathon, uniting the staff of the consulate and Turkmen students.
In addition to bike rides, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia held a football tournament, adding sports excitement to the festive week. And in Bucharest, the bike ride was held with the support of city authorities and environmental organizations, emphasizing the importance of the bicycle for a "green" future.
These international events became another confirmation of Turkmenistan's significant contribution to the promotion of the values of sustainable development, solidarity and unity through the love of cycling!
