Honor is preparing to unveil its new foldable smartphone, the Magic V5, positioning it as a direct competitor to the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7. The company has already released a teaser announcing the device's imminent launch.

Last year, the Honor Magic V3 was already one of the thinnest foldable smartphones, measuring 9.3 mm when folded. The new Magic V5, according to the teaser, will be even thinner, though precise specifications have not yet been disclosed.

In addition to its ultra-thin design, Honor claims the Magic V5 will be the "thinnest and lightest," as well as the "most powerful AI device" to date. The company also promises "PC-level performance".

The presentation of the Honor Magic V5 in China is scheduled for July 2nd, after which it will be released globally. This launch precedes the anticipated announcement of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, which is slated for July 9th.
