Ashgabat - London: Telephone Conversation with the Deputy Foreign Minister of Great Britain
Today, a telephone conversation took place between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Akhmet Gurbanov and Minister of State of the United Kingdom for Europe, North America and Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty.
The key point of the conversation was the gratitude of the British side to the leadership of Turkmenistan for the assistance provided in the evacuation of citizens of the United Kingdom from Iran. This gesture was made in the context of a difficult situation in the Middle East and, as noted, once again demonstrated Turkmenistan's commitment to the principles of humanism.
In addition to humanitarian issues, the diplomats discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Great Britain in the political, diplomatic and trade and economic spheres, the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reported.
The effectiveness of the British private sector's participation in the international forum "Investing in the Future of Turkmenistan" (IFT-2025), which was held in Ashgabat in March this year, was noted. This demonstrates the growing interest of foreign businesses in the economic opportunities of Turkmenistan.
During the conversation, topical regional issues were touched upon, as well as planned events for the second half of this year in both bilateral and multilateral formats. The importance of maintaining a systemic dialogue between the foreign ministries of the two countries was emphasized, which is the foundation for coordinating efforts and developing partnership.
At the end of the conversation, the British side once again expressed sincere gratitude to Turkmenistan for the humanitarian assistance provided.
