The State Library of Turkmenistan hosted an English-language book fair dedicated to U.S. Independence Day and the International Year of Peace and Trust. As part of the event, EducationUSA advisor Madina Sabirova presented educational programs available to Turkmen students planning to apply to universities in the United States.

1

Sabirova noted that the EducationUSA Advising Center offers free consultations on all aspects of studying in the U.S.—from selecting universities and scholarship opportunities to writing essays and preparing for exams. The center is located in Ashgabat at 48A Gorogly Street.

Among the key initiatives is the Competitive College Club (CCC) program, designed for high school students. Throughout the year, participants receive comprehensive preparation for applying to U.S. universities, including training on application strategy and test readiness.

2

Sabirova shared that she personally used EducationUSA services ten years ago and went on to earn her degree from West Virginia University. According to her, many Turkmen students have successfully been admitted to top-tier U.S. institutions, including MIT, Harvard, Stanford, and Brown—often with full scholarships.

3

The center also regularly shares information on upcoming international test dates for TOEFL, SAT, and GRE—essential exams for university admission and scholarship applications. Students can receive guidance on how to prepare and stay updated on the testing schedules.

4

Consulting services are also available in the regions (velayats) through the Prep for Success program, supported by the U.S. Department of State and American Councils.

The EducationUSA center holds weekly one-on-one advising sessions and also engages with students via Instagram: @EducationUSATurkmenistan.
