Ashgabat, July 27 | ORIENT. A diplomatic meeting was held in the capital between Charge d'Affaires of Afghanistan in Turkmenistan Fazl Mohammad Saber and Ambassador of Belarus to Turkmenistan Stanislav Chepurny. During the talks, the parties discussed ways to strengthen political and economic cooperation between Afghanistan and Belarus.

Turkmenistan's Role as a Regional Hub

According to a statement released by the Afghan Embassy in Ashgabat, the meeting focused on expanding bilateral relations, promoting investment opportunities in Afghanistan and facilitating the exchange of official delegations. Both sides stressed the importance of joint initiatives and ongoing cooperation in the common regional interest.

This meeting in Ashgabat highlights Turkmenistan's role as an important and convenient neutral platform for diplomatic talks and the development of regional cooperation. Fazl Mohammad Saber has previously held meetings with Turkmen government officials and representatives of international organizations, including the United Nations, to discuss key regional initiatives.

Regional Projects and Economic Prospects

Among the initiatives discussed, projects such as the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline, the development of cross-border railway networks and the expansion of trade routes stand out. These projects are of strategic importance for the entire region, including Turkmenistan.

Belarus, with its strong economic ties with Central Asian countries, including Turkmenistan, has shown an active interest in expanding its presence in the region. The meeting in Ashgabat could open up new prospects for trade, economic and investment partnership between Belarus and Afghanistan, especially in key areas such as energy, transport and industrial development.

Afghanistan, continuing to build ties with regional and global partners, prioritizes infrastructure, connectivity and trade as cornerstones of its economic diplomacy agenda.
