According to the latest analysis from the Cross-Border Trade and Transport Facilitation Index (CBTTFI), Turkmenistan's border crossing points were awarded a maximum score of 100 percent in the "transport regulation" category. This information was reported by Trend, citing a new report from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

The study covered six border crossing points in the region, including those in Azerbaijan, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, and Turkmenistan.

Turkmenistan's high score is indicative of the advanced organization and efficiency of its work in regulating transport flows, a factor that plays a key role in ensuring the stability and transparency of international shipments.

The document also highlights the strengths of other border crossing points in the region. The "Gyrmyzy Kerpu" point in Azerbaijan demonstrated a high overall efficiency score of 71 percent, while the "Yallama" point in Uzbekistan became the leader in total score at 77 percent. Pakistan's "Torkham" point led the categories of "customs coordination" (88 percent) and "transit support" (82 percent).

According to the ADB, the results of this analysis can contribute to further strengthening transport and logistics cooperation and to the development of regional trade routes, in which Turkmenistan plays a strategic role.
