Promoting LLDC3 in European Media: Contribution of Partners of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Belgium

In the days when the Caspian resort of Avaza became the center of international diplomacy, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Belgium launched an active information campaign to cover the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3). Thanks to close cooperation with leading media platforms in Europe, this important global event received wide coverage in the foreign press.

The main information coordinator and author of most of the publications was Derya Soysal, a well-known in Central Asia journalist from Belgium and an international correspondent for EU Reporter, Bruxelles Korner, as well as an accredited correspondent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. Her materials made a significant contribution to the coverage of the LLDC3 conference in the European media space and in various social networks. Working remotely, she timely and efficiently covered the main events of the forum, interacting with a number of international information platforms.

With her assistance, more than twenty articles were published and several videos were posted on the progress and content of the LLDC3 conference. The international media platform EU Reflect deserves special attention; its YouTube channel has almost 1 million subscribers. This authoritative resource has posted a number of analytical articles and key video material dedicated to both the LLDC3 conference itself and Turkmenistan's foreign policy strategy. Among them, the following publications stand out: “A Path Forward: The Third UN Conference on LLDCs”, “LLDC3: Turkmenistan and the United Nations Advance Global Connectivity and Dialogue”, and “Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Meets UN Secretary-General”.
