Turkmen Specialists Participate in the International Financial Security Program
Specialists from Turkmenistan are taking part in the “New Generation 2025” program, a training course for young financial intelligence officers, which started on August 11 in Moscow. The event, organized by Rosfinmonitoring, Rossotrudnichestvo and the International Training and Methodological Center for Financial Monitoring (ITMCFM), is aimed at improving qualifications and developing competencies in the field of combating money laundering and financing of terrorism.
This year, delegates from seven member states of the Eurasian Group on Combating Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism (EAG), including representatives of the financial intelligence units of Turkmenistan, are participating in the program.
For five days, Turkmen specialists, together with colleagues from Belarus, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, will work on developing key skills necessary to prepare for the upcoming round of mutual evaluations.
The program includes a visit to the Bank of Russia, the Federal Tax Service of Russia and VTB Bank, as well as participation in a series of round tables, seminars and master classes. A business game dedicated to the specifics of the new round of FATF/EAG assessments, a round table on effective international information exchange and a case game on identifying and blocking assets associated with terrorist activities have already taken place.
Also, as part of the cultural program, the project participants laid red carnations at the Eternal Flame in the Alexander Garden, honoring the memory of the victims of the Great Patriotic War.
The participation of Turkmen specialists in such international initiatives helps strengthen the national anti-money laundering system and expand international cooperation in the field of financial security.
