A hardware and software system capable of detecting cyberattacks on SIM cards has been created at the St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University "LETI." The system's unique feature is its ability to analyze suspicious activity by studying a gadget's power consumption.

SIM cards are a primary target for cyberattacks because they identify the user on the network and provide access to communication services. The method developed at "LETI" makes it possible to detect vulnerabilities in a device's power consumption system before an attacker does and to take the necessary protective measures.

The system consists of four blocks:

• Data contact check block

• Analysis block

• Control block

• Cryptomodule

The analysis of a gadget's power is performed automatically. According to the developers, in the future, this system will be useful to specialists who work on gadget security, as it will allow them to detect vulnerabilities and prevent attacks in a timely manner. The project received grant support from the university.
