A taekwondo tournament for the Cup of the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea was held in Ashgabat
From August 16 to 17, a taekwondo tournament for the Cup of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Turkmenistan took place in Ashgabat. The two-day competition brought together more than 250 young athletes aged 7 to 18, who traveled from the capital and all regions of the country.
The tournament, which has been held since 2010, is considered a significant event for the development of taekwondo in Turkmenistan. Greeting the participants, the Deputy Chief of Mission of the Korean Embassy, Mr. Kim Joon-chul, emphasized that this martial art is not just about winning; it also fosters a spirit of mutual respect, courtesy, and patience in athletes.
The event included not only exciting matches but also a rich cultural program. The tournament served as a platform for exchanging experience and was an important step in skill development for both the athletes and their coaches.
