The training focused on promoting positive parenting practices that contribute to a child’s holistic development and early learning. Teachers gained skills on how to facilitate parenting sessions, encourage nurturing practices, and help families create stimulating home environments that complement children’s preschool education.

Following the training, the teachers will participate in piloting a new parenting support programme in this academic year. This programme will provide a platform for parents to exchange ideas with teachers and other parents systematically, while also receiving professional guidance on early childhood education and care.

This activity is part of UNICEF’s ongoing cooperation with the Government of Turkmenistan to advance early childhood development, expand access to quality preschool education, and empower parents as key contributors to their children’s growth and learning. By encouraging active parental involvement, the initiative aims to increase families’ engagement in children’s development. This approach will strengthen children’s readiness for school and ensure that every child benefits from supportive and nurturing care at home and in preschool.
