On the occasion of the upcoming Independence Day, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree pardoning 225 citizens convicted of various crimes. The head of state announced this decision on Thursday, September 25, during a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Pardons for convicts who deeply repent of their crimes are regularly granted in the country on the eve of major holidays. The head of state instructed law enforcement officials to take all necessary measures to ensure that the released citizens can return to their families as soon as possible.
