Apple has reached an agreement with Google to integrate a special version of the Gemini artificial intelligence model into its Apple Intelligence platform. According to The Verge, citing Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, the deal is estimated to be worth around $1 billion per year.

As noted, the integration of the Gemini model will significantly enhance the intellectual capabilities of Apple’s voice assistant Siri, particularly in generating text summaries and performing tasks related to planning.

Apple plans to deploy the model on its own Private Cloud Compute servers, in line with the company’s policy of protecting user data privacy. At the same time, the company will continue to use its own artificial intelligence technologies to support Siri’s functionality.

According to Gurman, the version of Gemini that will be used will contain 1.2 trillion parameters, which far exceeds the 150 billion parameters built into the cloud version of Apple Intelligence developed directly by Apple. This advancement could make Siri one of the most sophisticated intelligent systems on the market.
