First Frosts Were Recorded in Turkmenistan

On the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, the first frosts occurred in Dashoguz velayat, as well as in the northern and central districts of Lebap velayat, due to the arrival of an anticyclone and the intrusion of Arctic air masses through Western Siberia and Kazakhstan.

In Dashoguz, by early Wednesday morning, the temperature dropped to -4.2°C. The first frost was also recorded in the far south of Turkmenistan.

Other regions of Turkmenistan also experienced noticeable cooling. In Ashgabat, after an unusually warm October, the temperature fell below +5°C for the first time this season, reaching +4.6°C.

According to the meteorological bulletin, nighttime frosts in Dashoguz velayat, some areas of Lebap velayat, parts of northern Balkan velayat, and the far south of Mary velayat are expected to persist until the end of the week.
