Following the successful evacuation of the first group of Russians through the Serakhs border crossing, Turkmenistan has opened four more checkpoints on the border with Iran. Ashgabat has confirmed its readiness to ensure safe transit for Russian citizens returning home.

According to the Russian Embassy in Ashgabat, five key points of contact are currently operational, through which organized evacuations are possible:

"Sarakhs - Serakhs" (already included in the logistics scheme);

"Artyk - Lutfabad";

"Gaudan - Bajgiran" (the closest point to Ashgabat);

"Akyayla - Incheburun";

"Altyn Asyr - Incheburun".

Important Details for Those Departing

Despite the reopening of the crossings, border crossings remain strictly organized. The procedure remains unchanged:

  1. Citizens' information must be sent to the Russian Embassy in Iran in advance.
  2. Crossing is only possible after both sides have confirmed the lists.
  3. Document requirements and processing procedures are the same for all five crossing points.

Logistics Chain

The first group of eight people to successfully pass through the Serakhs checkpoint has already departed Ashgabat International Airport on an S7 Airlines flight bound for Moscow. Expanding the list of available checkpoints will help distribute the flow of people and expedite the return process.

Turkmenistan, which shares a 1,100-kilometer land border with the Islamic Republic, has once again confirmed its status as a reliable regional partner, ready to quickly respond to humanitarian challenges.
