This year, International Women's Day will give residents of Turkmenistan an extra day for rest and celebration. According to the Decree of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the day off will be moved from Sunday to Monday.

In 2026, the Festival of Spring and Beauty will fall on a Sunday. To create the most comfortable conditions for honoring our women and enjoying family time, the head of state ordered Monday, March 9th, to be a non-working day.

Thus, Turkmen residents will have the following days off:

March 7 (Saturday)

March 8 (Sunday - International Women's Day)

March 9 (Monday - rescheduled day off)

The rescheduling is in accordance with Article 81 of the Labor Code of Turkmenistan.

The decree applies to all institutions, enterprises, and organizations in the country, regardless of ownership. On Tuesday, March 10, the country will return to its normal work schedule, inspired by the festive atmosphere.
