A business mission bringing together private-sector representatives from Turkmenistan and the UK has launched at the West London Chambers of Commerce in London. Running from 11 to 15 May, the event aims to strengthen trade and economic cooperation, build direct B2B contacts, and expand export opportunities for Turkmen companies in the UK and wider European markets.

This initiative is being organised by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and the West London Chamber of Commerce, with TurkmenExpo participating and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan providing support.

The Turkmen delegation includes representatives from 20 national companies ready to showcase their products and services. On the British side, more than 40 organisations and enterprises are participating in the mission, including well-known international companies, institutions, and brands such as Range Rover, Primark, Shell, Score, APM Fresh, Fieldfisher, Make UK, Berkeley Group, Cambridge University, Brunel University London, the University of West London, Sanderson Design Group, and Smart Currency Exchange.

The official opening ceremony began with welcoming remarks from Alan Rides, Chief Executive of the West London Chamber of Commerce. He emphasised the importance of strengthening business ties between the United Kingdom and Turkmenistan and highlighted the strong interest of British businesses in the Central Asian market. Over the course of the week, British companies will also consider visiting Turkmenistan to establish closer links between the business communities of both countries.

A welcoming address was also delivered by Mergen Gurdov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan. He highlighted the importance of international cooperation in developing the country’s private sector and promoting Turkmen products in foreign markets. Following the opening ceremony, brief presentations were held on key areas of cooperation.

Particular attention was given to the agri-food sector, the textile industry, education, tourism, and construction.

In the afternoon, off-site introductory visits were held for participants of the business mission. Over the week, they will attend B2B meetings, sector-focused negotiations, and business visits to establish new partnerships and further develop trade and economic relations between Turkmenistan and the United Kingdom.
