The National Leader of the Turkmen People Met with the Rais of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, in the Kazan Kremlin
As part of his participation in the 17th International Economic Forum "Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum 2026," National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty (People's Council), Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, met with Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, in the Kazan Kremlin.
During the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov expressed his sincere gratitude to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for participating in the forum as an honorary guest and for sending a representative delegation. It was particularly noted that Turkmenistan presented one of the largest stands at the Kazan Halal Market this year, and the country's exhibition display at the forum clearly demonstrates Turkmenistan's powerful economic and export potential.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, in turn, congratulated the leadership of Tatarstan on Kazan's status as the cultural capital of the Islamic world this year. He emphasized the growing authority of KazanForum as a global platform for discussing issues related to the IT industry, digitalization, and investment cooperation.
A unique moment during the meeting was Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov's telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, which took place during their meeting in the Kazan Kremlin. The National Leader of the Turkmen People conveyed warm greetings from Tatarstan to the Russian leader, emphasizing the steadfastness of the strategic partnership.
"Turkmenistan and Russia are long-term strategic partners. I express my gratitude to Vladimir Putin for creating favorable conditions for the development of our multifaceted cooperation," the Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty noted.
Rustam Minnikhanov confirmed that the foundation of these successful relations was laid by the personal efforts of the Presidents of Turkmenistan and Russia, as well as the long-standing work of the National Leader of the Turkmen People.
The meeting confirmed that Turkmenistan's cooperation with Tatarstan is a model of effective interregional cooperation within the framework of the Turkmen-Russian dialogue. The parties expressed confidence that the current forum will give new impetus to joint projects in high-tech industries and cultural and humanitarian spheres.
The 17th International Economic Forum "Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum" is taking place from May 12 to 17.
