A meeting between the premiers of China and Uzbekistan took place in Beijing. The sides agreed to strengthen cooperation in trade, energy, transport, and people-to-people exchanges. Here is how CCTV+ reports it.
Chinese Premier Li Qiang met with Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov in Beijing on Thursday and called for efforts to achieve greater progress in building a China-Uzbekistan community with a shared future.
Li noted that China and Uzbekistan have maintained close high-level exchanges in recent years, demonstrating practical progress in bilateral relations. China is ready to work with Uzbekistan by following the strategic guidance of the two presidents, strengthen political mutual trust, and offer each other firm support, Li said, calling for mutually beneficial cooperation in areas such as trade and investment, energy resources, transport infrastructure and people-to-people exchanges.
Given the complex international situation, both sides should strengthen multilateral cooperation, actively implement the Global Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative, Global Civilization Initiative and Global Governance Initiative, and promote the international order in a more just and reasonable direction, Li said.
Aripov stated that Uzbekistan firmly supports the One-China principle. Uzbekistan is ready to expand high-level exchanges with China, actively participate in Belt and Road cooperation, enhance cooperation in economy, trade and people-to-people exchanges, and strengthen multilateral coordination and interaction to promote further development of Uzbek-Chinese relations.
