On Wednesday, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić highly praised China’s remarkable progress in robotics and the cooperation between China and Serbia in advanced fields.
Vučić is on his first state visit to China from May 24 to 28. Before the visit, Vučić called it the most important state visit of his political career.
The Serbian president visited robot manufacturing enterprises in Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province, where robots mixed drinks, built with blocks and produced calligraphic works. Vučić observed robot application scenarios up close, including a demonstration of loading by quadruped robots, and even personally played board games with robots.
“It’s like the 22nd century. I was so happy to see the progress of Chinese industry, to see how the Minth factory works with robotics. I am very pleased by the fact that we will very soon start producing some of these robots in Serbia,” Vučić said.
In February this year, Vučić announced cooperation with Chinese companies to establish Europe’s first large-scale manufacturing base for humanoid robots.
The Serbian president also attended the signing of agreements between Serbian officials and representatives of four Chinese companies. The documents launched major new investments worth more than 900 million euros in the high-tech sector, auto parts manufacturing and advanced manufacturing industries.
During the visit, Vučić repeatedly expressed gratitude to China for its assistance in Serbia’s development and encouraged Serbian youth studying artificial intelligence at Chinese companies. Vučić also attended the opening ceremony of the China-Serbia youth cultural exchange centre.
“I feel proud seeing young Serbs here who are learning a lot and realising that these people are the future of our country. They will bring their knowledge back to Serbia. Many thanks to our Chinese friends, sisters and brothers for their help,” Vučić said.
