The 17th Tour of Hainan concluded on Sunday with Uruguayan professional cyclist Guillermo Thomas Silva securing the overall title after five stages across the tropical island in south China.
The 2026 edition of the men's road cycling stage race spanned 896 kilometers over five days, ending in Sanya, a "tropical paradise" in Hainan.
The 24-year-old Silva, who is currently racing for XDS Astana Team, successfully defended his yellow jersey, winning the race.
Jointly organized by the International Cycling Union (UCI), China's General Administration of Sport, and the provincial government of Hainan, the annual professional road bicycle race attracted 249 riders from 20 teams across 38 countries this year, more than 200 of them foreign.
The route stretched across the island from north to south, linking coastal highways with rainforest roads and showcasing the ecology of Hainan Free Trade Port.
