The third phase of the 139th China Import and Export Fair, better known as the Canton Fair, opened on Friday in Guangzhou, the capital of southern China's Guangdong Province. The spotlight is on home and household products.
This five-day phase of the world's largest trade fair will run from May 1 to 5, featuring toys, maternal and baby products, home textiles, stationery, and health and leisure goods. The exhibition area totals 515,000 square meters, hosting 25,000 booths.
The third phase also showcases intelligent healthcare products, fashion trends, and applications for the "silver economy" — all aimed at meeting the growing global demand for quality health products, personalized consumption, and emotional well-being. More than 150 new products will make their debut during this phase.
The Canton Fair runs from April 15 to May 5 in three phases, each dedicated to different product categories — from advanced manufacturing to home goods. The overall exhibition covers 1.55 million square meters, featuring 75,700 booths and over 32,000 participating enterprises, including approximately 3,900 first-time exhibitors.
Founded in 1957, the Canton Fair is held twice a year in Guangzhou. As the oldest of China's major international trade events, it is widely regarded as a barometer of the country's foreign trade.
