The 139th China Import and Export Fair has concluded in Guangzhou. For the first time, zones featuring smart wearables, display technologies, and drones were presented. Here is how CCTV+ reports it.
The 139th China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, concluded on Tuesday in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou. The volume of intended export deals reached $25.7 billion.
The event attracted 314,000 overseas buyers from 220 countries and regions, up 1.1% from the previous session held last autumn.
For the first time, the fair featured nine new specialized zones, including smart wearable devices, display technologies, and drones, showcasing cutting-edge digital technologies poised to revolutionize many industries. Over 4.65 million products were exhibited, with more than 20% of the total falling into the "new, green, and smart" category, highlighting the significant progress of China's manufacturing sector in its high-tech, intelligent, and green transformation.
Founded in 1957, the Canton Fair is held twice a year in Guangzhou. As China's oldest large-scale international trade event, it has long been considered a barometer of the country's foreign trade. This year's fair was held in three phases from April 15 to May 5, with a record number of participating enterprises — more than 32,000.
