Turkmenistan can become an important transport hub between Europe and Asia. The Global Gateway Investor Forum on Transport links between the EU and Central Asia opened today, January 29, in Brussels, bringing together governments, financial institutions, business and civil society from Europe, Central Asia, as well as the countries of the Caucasus and Turkey, the "Big Seven". Valdis Dombrovskis, Executive Vice President of the European Commission, announced that the European and international financial institutions attending the forum will allocate 10 billion euros to support and invest in sustainable transport links in Central Asia.
