Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan to simplify transport links and provide carriers with discounts
Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan discussed the prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation in the field of transport. This was reported by the Sputnik Uzbekistan agency with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan.
During the negotiations, the parties expressed their interest in the full resumption of the transportation of goods between them by road, as well as in simplifying the requirements for the transportation itself.
In addition, the representatives discussed the need to develop transport corridors. The parties decided to improve the railway infrastructure and provide discounts to increase freight traffic between the countries.
The agency recalls that an online meeting of representatives of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan took place the day before, at which they considered the organization of a new transport corridor from China to Central Asia.
