Elon Musk’s AI startup xAI has secured $15 billion in a new funding round, CNBC reports, citing sources familiar with the negotiations.
According to these sources, a significant portion of the capital will be allocated to purchasing graphic processors needed to train large language models.
Following the round, xAI’s valuation has risen to approximately $200 billion. For comparison, Anthropic was recently valued at $183 billion, while OpenAI’s valuation is estimated at around $500 billion.
It is also noted that in September, Musk stated on social network X that the company was not seeking additional funding at that time.
