Oguljahan Atabayeva, Vice President for Medical Affairs of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care, is leading the Turkmen delegation at the Fashion Commonwealth Forum in St. Petersburg.
On November 20, Oguljahan Atabayeva met with Valentina Matviyenko, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
The Speaker of the Federation Council noted that Russia is closely following Turkmenistan's achievements and its successes on the international stage. Valentina Matviyenko conveyed her sincere greetings and best wishes to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan. She emphasized that relations between Russia and Turkmenistan are developing dynamically in a spirit of friendship and mutual understanding thanks to the personal active participation and interaction of the leaders of the two countries.
The Federation Council Speaker also noted the importance and social significance of the work carried out by the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care. She also noted that the Russian Circle of Kindness Foundation is conducting similar work.
Speaking about the events of the "Commonwealth of Fashion" forum, Valentina Matviyenko noted that Turkmenistan is presenting one of the most representative exhibits in St. Petersburg this year. Turkmenistan has rich traditions in the light industry and creative industries.

The Federation Council Speaker emphasized that the "Commonwealth of Fashion" forum, attended by representatives from over 30 countries, has already become a significant integration tool, fostering the exchange of experience, the preservation and promotion of traditions in fashion and design, the mutual enrichment of cultures, and a lively dialogue. In addition to supporting the light industry, the forum promotes products in CIS countries and helps develop the talents of young designers. "It has become a true springboard for manufacturers from Russian regions to enter the CIS markets."
Oguljahan Atabayeva noted that the forum's events were impressive. She spoke about the work of the Foundation, of which she is Vice President.
The two discussed cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian spheres.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council Inna Svyatenko, Deputy Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Social Policy Yulia Lazutkina, and Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Dmitry Kobitsky.
Following the meeting, Valentina Matviyenko and Oguljahan Atabayeva toured the exhibits from Turkmenistan and other countries at the forum.
During the tour, the Speaker of the Federation Council noted the importance of preserving unique traditions, leveraging existing advantages to enhance the competitiveness of products, and expanding our presence in foreign markets.
Speaking to journalists following the tour, Valentina Matviyenko emphasized how skillfully and colorfully national traditions are woven into the fashionable, modern products on display at the exhibitions.
"What's presented is inspiring. The CIS countries are maintaining traditions and showcasing new developments. Demand for the forum is growing every year. New agreements, contracts, and treaties have been signed. We intend to further develop and strengthen our cooperation," the Federation Council speaker said.

The main purpose of her visit is to participate in the IV International Forum "Commonwealth of Fashion." Oguljahan Atabayeva will speak at the session "It's Fashionable to Be Healthy" at the IV International Forum "Commonwealth of Fashion" and will discuss the activities of the foundation.
The forum is organized by the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly and the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
The visit will also include bilateral meetings with representatives of government, public, and business circles to discuss cooperation in the humanitarian sphere, support for children, and the development of cultural and charitable initiatives.
On November 19, the delegation's first day in the northern capital of the Russian Federation, visited one of the world's largest and most famous museums, the State Hermitage Museum.

The visit to St. Petersburg underscores Turkmenistan's commitment to strengthening humanitarian ties and exchanging experience in the field of child social protection.
