The results of the 2025 UI GreenMetric World University Ranking, which evaluates universities worldwide based on environmental performance, have been released. This international ranking evaluates higher education institutions based on their environmental sustainability in six areas, assigning a total score out of 10,000 points.
In 2025, 1,745 universities from 105 countries participated in the ranking. Oguz Khan University of Engineering Technologies of Turkmenistan scored 7,675 points, placing 306th in the world. The evaluation was conducted across six main categories, in which the university achieved the following results: — Infrastructure and Buildings: 1200 out of 1500 points;
— Energy and Climate Action: 1575 out of 2100 points;
— Waste Management: 1125 out of 1800 points;
— Water Management: 850 out of 1000 points;
— Sustainable Transport: 1437.5 out of 1800 points;
— Education and Research: 1487.5 out of 1800 points.
Within this ranking, universities are divided into three tiers based on their total points:

It's worth noting that Oguz Khan University of Engineering Technologies, with a score of 7,675, was included in the "gold category."
The university has been participating in the UI GreenMetric ranking for four years, demonstrating steady improvement. In 2022, the university ranked 637th, in 2023—432nd, in 2024—328th, and in 2025—306th, demonstrating a consistent improvement in its ranking.
In addition, 12 universities from Turkmenistan took part in the 2025 ranking, and Oguz Khan University of Engineering Technologies took first place among them for the third year in a row.
