Apple has updated its budget smartphone, the iPhone 17e. The new device has become the most affordable model in the refreshed iPhone lineup. With a starting price of $599, the smartphone retains its familiar design but introduces several key improvements that significantly enhance the user experience of the budget model.
The main technical upgrade is full support for MagSafe. Unlike previous versions, the iPhone 17e now includes built-in magnets, and the wireless charging power has increased to 15W. As a result, the battery can be charged from 30% to 46% in just 15 minutes, making the device far more practical for everyday use.
Another pleasant surprise for users is the increase in base storage to 256 GB. The device is powered by the latest Apple A19 chip, ensuring high performance. The display is now protected by the second-generation Ceramic Shield, the same durable glass used in premium versions of the iPhone 17.
At the same time, Apple kept the 60 Hz display and excluded the Dynamic Island feature to avoid internal competition with higher-end models. Despite having only a single camera, new algorithms allow users to capture high-quality portraits not only of people but also of animals, with the ability to adjust the focus even after the photo has been taken.
