Energy Charter as an effective platform for strengthening ties between Turkmen and Belarusian specialists
Deputy Head of the Energy Ministry of Belarus V. Zakrevsky noted the fruitful nature of the interaction of the Turkmen power engineers with their Belarusian counterparts at the authoritative discussion site of the Energy Charter Conference. This was announced at a seminar on the problems of energy cooperation in the 21st century, organized by the diplomatic mission of Turkmenistan in the capital of the Republic of Belarus. In May this year Belarus took part in the Ashgabat forum of Energy Charter as an observer country, which, according to the deputy head of the Belarusian Ministry of Energy, has sufficient potential to more effectively influence global energy processes. In the opinion of the representative of the foreign policy department of the Republic of Belarus V.Shumsky, the progressive development of the energy industry has a direct impact on the sustainable progress of countries and regions whose level of development is determined by access to energy resources. Turkmenistan, this year presiding in the Energy Charter Conference, twice initiated the resolutions on reliable and stable energy transit that were adopted at the meetings of the UN General Assembly in 2008 and 2013.
