International Media Forum on the Heritage of Islamic Civilization Will Be Held in Uzbekistan


From August 24 to 28, Tashkent and Samarkand will host the International Media Forum titled “Islamic Civilization: A New Perspective — New Discoveries.” The large-scale event will bring together around 300 representatives of leading international media outlets, scholars and experts from 50 countries.
The main objective of the forum is to present the region’s rich history and spiritual heritage to an international audience through modern technologies, including digital platforms, immersive museum spaces and artificial intelligence.
Key events and innovations of the program:
• Global media giants: Executives and experts from Euronews, CNN, BBC, Al Jazeera and TRT World will participate in discussions and sessions.
• Artificial intelligence in history: The forum will feature a presentation of the INKSIGHT AI model for recognizing ancient Arabic manuscripts, as well as digital avatars of great Eastern scholars Al-Khwarizmi, Avicenna and Ulugh Beg.
• Exclusive premieres: A film about the history of Uzbekistan by Oscar-winning actor Ben Kingsley will be presented, along with a multimedia mapping show on the facade of the Center of Islamic Civilization.
• Education and youth: Leading foreign journalists will conduct master classes at 15 universities in Tashkent, and a new educational course titled “Journalism Guide” will be launched.
• Samarkand visit: Participants will visit the reconstructed Imam Bukhari Memorial Complex and the Innovation Museum of Hadith Studies.
The forum is dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s state independence and aims to showcase the country’s profound cultural heritage and reform-driven transformations on the international stage.
