Apple is preparing a major upgrade to its Siri voice assistant by leveraging the technologies of leading industry players, including Google and Nvidia. According to The Information, the next-generation Siri will be powered by the Gemini language model, while computing performance will be provided by Nvidia’s latest Blackwell B200 accelerators.

The most significant change lies in the data-processing architecture. Previously, Apple aimed to perform all operations directly on users’ devices. Under the new approach, however, some complex requests will be handled through Google Cloud infrastructure. The move is intended to accelerate the rollout of advanced generative AI capabilities and help Apple remain competitive in the rapidly evolving AI landscape.

Security, a longstanding priority for Apple, remains a central focus. Google’s infrastructure will employ Confidential Computing technology, which encrypts data at the hardware level while it is being processed. As a result, even when third-party servers are used, users’ personal information is expected to remain protected and inaccessible to unauthorized parties.

The partnership marks a significant shift in Apple’s strategy. The company is temporarily moving away from its principle of complete technological independence in order to achieve a faster leap forward in AI development. The first Siri features powered by the Gemini model are expected to be unveiled in September 2026 alongside the new iPhone 18 Pro lineup and the long-awaited foldable iPhone Ultra.
