Turkmenistan's Youth Weightlifting Team Will Compete at World Championships in Colombia


The coaching staff of Turkmenistan's youth weightlifting team has announced the final squad for the World Youth Weightlifting Championships, which will take place from July 5 to 11 in Cali, Colombia.
The national team consists of seven athletes. In the boys' competition, Turkmenistan will be represented by Kerem Gurbandurdyyev and Atabek Azamatov in the up to 60 kg category, Shahin Khudaybergenov in the up to 65 kg category, and Davut Kakageldiyev in the up to 79 kg category.
In the girls' competition, Shabnam Kerimbayeva and Ogulshat Amanova will compete in the up to 53 kg category, while Gulzada Berdimuhamedova will contest medals in the up to 58 kg weight class.
At the previous World Youth Weightlifting Championships, held in Peru in 2025, Turkmenistan achieved an impressive result by winning seven medals: three gold, one silver, and three bronze.
