The First Intake of Future Cyberdefenders at the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics of Turkmenistan
The rapid digitalization of Turkmenistan's public sector, industry, and financial system has required a fundamentally new level of digital border protection. Ahead of September 1, the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics of Turkmenistan completed its first-ever intake of students for a new specialization: "Information Security of Automated Systems."
Information security has become an integral part of national and economic security. The increasing number of cyberattacks worldwide and the risks of unauthorized access to automated control systems in manufacturing, energy, and logistics are driving a high demand for specialists capable of building reliable digital barriers.
The training program focuses on practical immersion in the industry. Students will master cryptographic protection methods, cyberattack countermeasure algorithms, network infrastructure security, and legal aspects of data protection. Hands-on training will take place in specialized cybersecurity and cryptography labs, and the curriculum will focus on using professional software for auditing and vulnerability testing systems, including Wireshark, Kali Linux, Metasploit, and Cisco Packet Tracer.
In just a few days, the first students in the new program will begin classes to build the country's talent pool for protecting critical digital infrastructure for government agencies, industrial facilities, and financial institutions in Turkmenistan.
